Is Muhammad Mentioned in the Bible? Who is a prophet like Moses in Deuteronomy18? Muhammad or Jesus?
Islam declares itself as an Abrahamic faith sharing the same "religion" as Abraham just like Judaism and Christianity. The Standard Islam Narrative is that Islam is a continuation of Christianity bringing the message from Allah as revealed to Muhammad, to correct the corrupted biblical narrative as believed by Christians today. Therefore, in order to support this claim, Islam claims that Muhammad is prophesized in the Bible.
According to:
Q 7: 157. Those who follow the Messenger, the Prophet who can neither read nor write (i.e. Muhammad) whom they find written with them in the Taurat (Torah) and the Injeel (Gospel)
Q 61:6, Isa (Muslim Jesus) announced the coming of Muhammad.
Therefore, the authenticity of the Qu'ran rests on the proof that Muhammad is mentioned in the Bible, if not, then the Quran is false and likewise, Muhammad is a false prophet.
This is a four-part series of discussions on whether Muhammad is mentioned in the Bible. The series will cover the following claims concerning these passages in the Bible:
1. Deuteronomy 18:18 & 33:1-2
2. John 14 & 16
3. Song of Solomon 5:16
4. Isaiah 29:11-12 and chapter 42
This blog covers Part 1 relating to Deuteronomy 18. See the PDF articles and video below:
