Is the New Testament a True Eye-Witness Account of Jesus?

There is no doubt that the Quran makes mention of earlier revelations that God has earlier given to the 'People of the Book' (the Jews and Christians) before Prophet Mohammed.

In Surah 5:43-44, the Torah is said to have been revealed and entrusted to the Jews for their light and guidance and that the Jews were to be judged by that God-given standard. If they did not, they are worse than unbelievers.

Similarly, in Surah 5:46-48, the Gospel was said to be given to Jesus to provide guidance and light for Christians and to confirm the Law.

Further, Surah 5:68 reads as follows: 68 Say, "O People of the Scripture (Book), you are [standing] on nothing until you uphold [the law of] the Torah, the Gospel, and what has been revealed to you from your Lord." Here, the People of the Book were urged to uphold all that had been revealed to them; thereby, suggesting what was written in these Books for the Jews and Christians had continuing validity and relevance. This, in turn, affirms the existence and veracity or truthfulness of the Torah and Injil during the time of the Prophet Mohammed.

On the other hand, Prophet Mohammed was told by God to check with the People of the Book if he was in doubt about the revelation that he had received; a point made in Surah 10:94. There are two important points to note here: (a) It simply means that the truth in the earlier revelations will verify the revelation that Prophet Mohammed had been receiving from God so that he will no longer be in doubt; and (b) For God to ask the Prophet Mohammed to consult the Scriptures of the 'People of the Book', it must mean that their Scriptures were uncorrupted during the time of the Prophet (ca. 570, 610-632 AD).

Surah 10:94: 'So if you are in doubt, [O Muhammad], about that which We have revealed to you, then ask those who have been reading the Scripture before you. The truth has certainly come to you from your Lord, so never be among the doubters.'

Despite all these verses in the Quran that affirm the authenticity of the Bible, Muslims today claim the bible has been corrupted when they have found significant contradictions in the Quran when compared with the Bible. Therefore, the only way for this dilemma can be resolved and in order not to undermine the "perfection" of the Quran, is to take the stand that the bible has been corrupted, a claim they are unable to substantiate.
