Jesus Plus or Minus Equals a False Jesus

Only someone who does not understand the world religions would claim they basically teach the same thing. On closer examination, all religions are not saying the same thing but teach distinct and mutually exclusive religious doctrines. They all cannot be the truth at the same time.

Jesus said, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” (John 14:6). By this Jesus has made it clear that the eternal truths of God may be known. Jesus Christ is the centerpiece of the gospel – in Him, all of the truth came together. So, while there may be aspects of truth elsewhere, the sum of truth is in Christ.

Jesus warned us about deception will come through false prophets and false christs and the bible tells us that there will also be false teachers and apostles who will preach a different Jesus and a different gospel from the bible. As Jesus Christ is the centrality of the gospel of the Kingdom of God, the target of the deception will be on the person of Jesus Christ. Not only will there be imposters who will come to replace Jesus but there will also be false doctrines of Christ that sought to deconstruct or reconstruct the person of Christ. This falsehood may be from within the church and outside, particularly from Islam which claims to be the “truth” in place of the doctrine of Jesus. The bible warns in 1Timothy 6:3-4:

3 If anyone teaches a different doctrine and does not agree with the sound words of our Lord Jesus Christ and the teaching that accords with godliness, 4 he is puffed up with conceit and understands nothing.

Please take heed of these warnings.
